FAQs
How much time does mentoring take?
Typically 1–2 hours per month per founder. You choose how many founders you take on (most mentors start with one) and you can pause or step back at any time.
Is mentoring paid?
Most engagements are pro-bono — you give time, founders act on the advice. Some Snowball Creator-tier projects offer paid or equity-based mentor packages, which you can opt into individually.
How are mentees matched to me?
We match on your declared expertise, sector and stage. You'll see a short brief on each proposed founder and decide whether to accept — never an obligation.
What's expected of me beyond the sessions?
Show up to scheduled calls, give frank feedback, and flag if a project isn't progressing. We don't expect intros, investment or open-ended Slack support unless you offer them.
Can I invest in or join projects I mentor?
Yes — many of our best outcomes come from mentors who later angel-invest or take an advisor/board role. We just ask for transparency with the founder when the relationship changes.
